As mentioned in an earlier newsletter we have signed up with the LSSP (Liverpool School Sport Partnership) This gives us access to many fantastic competions and activities that will be run in school.
The first in school programme is a year 4 program called POWER.
The programme is to promote engagemnet in sport whilst also focussing on many different health and wellbeing strategies for the children.
It is a 5 week course (1 hour session per week) followed by a potential further two sessions after half term.
The course will be delivered by Hannah Cashin (LSSP PE Specialist).
All LSSP PE Specialists are recruited in line with the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ legislation. In addition, they all have the following minimum operating standard qualifications:
• National Governing Body Level 2. (minimum) coaching qualification
• Safeguarding & Protecting Children qualification
• Emergency First Aid qualifications
This programme was initially limited to 30 children but we were able to secure a further 15 places for the year group. This was then randomly selected at 15 children per class.
