What are the interventions in Cognition and Learning

  • SNIP – handwriting and dyslexia (daily -  10 weeks then assessed)
  • Toe by Toe (10 weeks then assessed)
  • Wasp and Hornet (10 weeks then assessed)
  • Plus 1 (10 weeks then assessed)
  • Plus 2 (10 weeks then assessed)
  • Work Shark (10 weeks)
  • Number Shark (10 weeks)
  • Precision Teaching (10 weeks)
  • Catch Up Tuition (10 weeks)
  • Dyscalculia Toolkit Games (as needed per topic)

 

  • SNIP – handwriting and dyslexia (daily -  10 weeks then assessed) A daily programme which build up word recognition and practises spelling in different contexts. One weekly session with the TA and then independent work
  • Toe by Toe (10 weeks then assessed). Up to 3 x per week and can be supported at home –this is to help with difficulties in breaking up sounds and is about 10 minutes each session
  • Wasp and Hornet (10 weeks then assessed) When the child has completed Toe by Toe, they may show difficulties in applying spellings. This programme supports the application of sounds in spelling
  • Work Shark (10 weeks) - Children have weekly spellings, sounds and supporting different ways of learning to spell.
  • Number Shark (10 weeks) - This to support alongside White Rose and TT Rockstars  - the children have the time to address individual needs
  • Precision Teaching (10 weeks) - Precision Teaching is about the child having an individual target and then being able to achieve that each week. It is most often based around Literacy and Number.
  • Catch Up Tuition (10 weeks) - this is based around individual need
  • Dyscalculia Toolkit Games (as needed per topic) -this would support a child with a difficulty in the area of mathematics identified with the school, parent and child. It is not an ongoing programme but support for the area of need such as time and organisation of numbers.
